Who we are
KARLSHOLZ is a design and furniture company from Karlsruhe (the 'Fächerstadt'), led by Alexander Zobel and Florian Müller. For more than 20 years, the founders have shared a passion for design, practical everyday furniture, and the material wood. The core product is the modular furniture system KUBIKUS, whose modules are plugged together using small metal pins – the KUBIKUS connectors – allowing them to be reconfigured, expanded, or reused at will. The modules are made from melamine-resin-coated wood-based panels (MDF); the raw cut edges are textured on the CNC milling machine and finished uniformly. Production takes place locally in Karlsruhe, among other locations at the Hagsfelder Werkstätten of Lebenshilfe e. V., and is done by hand. The company complements manufacturing with a personal planning service for individual configurations and relies on suppliers and producers from the region.
