The Kath. St. Paulus Society (Kath. St. Paulus GmbH) was founded on 1 June 2021 through the merger of the Kath. St.-Johannes-Gesellschaft Dortmund gGmbH, the Katholische St. Lukas Gesellschaft mbH, the Marienkrankenhaus Schwerte gem. GmbH and the Katholisches Klinikum Lünen-Werne GmbH. The association operates ten hospital sites in Castrop-Rauxel, Dortmund, Lünen, Werne and Schwerte with more than 2,900 beds, including the St.-Johannes-Hospital Dortmund with its Outpatient Surgery Centre, as well as four nursing homes and one youth welfare facility. Around 8,500 employees provide inpatient, partially inpatient and outpatient care, outpatient rehabilitation, MVZ services, Caritas nursing services, pastoral care as well as laboratory, pharmacy and Central Sterile Services. The legal entities operate uniformly as SLG, SJG, KLW and MKS St. Paulus GmbH.
