About Keramik Innovation Berthold

Keramik Innovation Berthold is a sole proprietorship founded in 2020 by Heinrich Berthold and based in Erlangen. The company supports customers from feasibility assessment through prototype construction (up to 5 prototypes, by default using the FDM process, alternatively DLP or SLA) to additive small-series production of up to 500 parts per month. Components are made from technical ceramics, including silicate-based materials, piezoceramics and Cordierite C520. In addition, the company offers technology transfer and upscaling to series production, planning and specification of production facilities, material characterization via a university network, and consulting on process optimization and CO2-reduced ceramic production. A patent granted in 2023 concerns electrically conductive ceramic composite materials based on silicates. Application areas are in the automotive industry (diesel injection, exhaust catalysts, DeNOx systems), electronics and energy technology, among others in the EU project eQATOR on electrically heated reactors.
