About the ceramics studio
The Keramikatelier Karin Gentsch-Geist was founded in 1986 and has been based in Göpfersdorf, Thuringia, since 2000. Karin Gentsch-Geist, born in 1952 in Zeitz, produces ceramic art objects and artistic works in clay and ceramics in her single-artist studio. Her training includes a degree in laboratory technology in Berlin, the Special School for Ceramics at the District Academy of Culture in Leipzig, and specialized training in the Keramischer Kreis Kapfenstein in Austria. The studio participates in exhibitions in Germany and abroad, including in galleries and museums such as the Töpfermuseum Kohren-Sahlis, and since 2001 has taken part in the annual wood sculptor plein-air events in Göpfersdorf with ceramic actions. Works by the artist are held in public and private collections, including the Lichtenstein collection and the Töpfermuseum Kohren-Sahlis.
