About Kersten Coating Technology
Kersten Kunststofcoating B.V. has been specializing since 1967 in the preservation and improvement of metal surfaces through high-quality technical plastic coatings. The company started in Eerbeek under the name Kersten Kunststofcoating and later moved to Brummen in the Netherlands; in 1995 a second production site was established in Kahla (Thuringia), Germany. The service portfolio includes technical consulting, application of coatings by fluidized bed sintering, electrostatic powder coating and rotomoulding, pyrolysis and thermal cleaning for removal of old coatings, certification, and an on-site service with repair, inspection, coating thickness measurement and porosity testing. Coating systems used include Rilsan® (Nylon 11), Resicoat® (Epoxy), Halar® (ECTFE), Kynar®, fluoropolymers (PTFE, FEP, PFA, ETFE), XYLAN®, Nylon R-AM, Abcite® and a PFAS-free ceramic coating. In the fluidized bed sintering process, components up to 6 m in length and 1.5 m in diameter are coated; the pyrolysis oven offers a usable space of 6 x 2.5 x 2.5 m. Customers include industries such as drinking water treatment, wastewater and cooling water treatment, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding and offshore, food and pharmaceutical industries, electroplating, baking industry, printing companies, and the process and chemical industries; project references include Ovivo Water, MEYER WERFT and the Wasserverband Hümmling water association.

Coating materials and processes
Rilsan® (Nylon 11, bio-based)
Corrosion-protective, chemical-resistant and elastic coating, Kiwa-certified, among other things for drinking water applications.
Resicoat® (Epoxy)
Kiwa-certified epoxy system for corrosion protection with insulating, wear-resistant effect.
Halar® (Fluoropolymer ECTFE)
Particularly chemically resistant, electrically insulating corrosion protection; optionally conductive (ATEX) or FDA-approved.
Kynar®
Fluoropolymer coating for chemically demanding applications.
Fluoropolymers (PTFE, FEP, PFA, ETFE)
Temperature- and chemical-resistant systems with anti-stick properties and dry film lubrication.
XYLAN® (Fluoropolymer)
Anti-stick coating with low frictional resistance, electrically conductive and optionally FDA-approved.
Nylon R-AM (Rilsan-based, antimicrobial)
Rilsan-based coating with antimicrobial effect for hygienic applications.
Abcite® (Thermoplastic)
Chemical-resistant thermoplastic coating with an average coating thickness of 300 to 400 µm.
PFAS-free ceramic coating
PFAS-free alternative coating for specific application requirements.
Dry film lubrication (PTFE, graphite, MoS2)
Reduces friction without oils and greases, predominantly used in cleanroom environments.
