About Kerzen Jaspers

The candle factory Kerzenfabrik G. & W. Jaspers GmbH u. Co. KG in Hopsten (Westphalia) has been producing candles since 1864, founded by Trappist brother Heinrich Jaspers. The product range includes altar candles, Easter candles, votive candles and systems, sanctuary lights, pillar, candelabra, tapered, bar candles, Nordic frost candles as well as ball and hotel table candles. Depending on the candle type, production is by the drawing process (semi-automatic and continuous), by stamping and extrusion pressing, by casting with fully automatic machines, and by hand-kneaded beeswax. Materials are paraffin, ceresin, stearin, beeswax and cotton wicks from German suppliers. Further processing includes automatic dip-coating, drilling and milling, taper cutting, calibrating as well as decorating and modelling in the in-house wax modeller's studio, including screen and transfer printing. Main customers are churches and ecclesiastical institutions, specialist retailers, florists and the hospitality industry; delivery is usually carried out with the company's own vehicle fleet.
