Mould making from a single source
Kessler Werkzeugbau AG in Trasadingen is a Swiss mould manufacturer that designs, manufactures and maintains injection moulds and die-casting moulds. The company was created from the merger of Grewatec AG with Kessler Werkzeugbau AG as of 1 September 2016; Grewatec AG was founded in 1994 by Walter Greulich as a management buy-out from Georg Fischer Formenbau. The core competence is tool and mould making: high-performance injection moulds with 1 to 48 cavities, multi-component tools, slider, curved, jaw and unscrewing moulds as well as MIM moulds (Metal Injection Moulding) for thermoplastics and thermosets, plus die-casting moulds for aluminium and zinc parts with mould sizes up to 800 x 800 mm and mould weights up to 3.5 t. Tool design is carried out in-house with Solidworks including filling simulation (Moldflow); manufacturing comprises hard/soft milling, turning with driven tools, grinding, sink and wire EDM including start-hole drilling, polishing and laser welding for prototypes and repairs. In addition to moulds, the company manufactures single parts and small series as contract manufacturing and provides tool maintenance, sampling, measurements and O-series production. Customers come from medical technology, cosmetics, food/packaging, electrical engineering, valves and piping technology, and the automotive industry.
