About KFT Kirchhoff Formtechnik
KFT – Kirchhoff Formtechnik is a mould-making company based in Halver in the Märkischer Kreis district, specialising in injection mould toolmaking for the plastics processing industry. Its range of services covers the conception and design of injection moulding tools in CAD/CAM (Cimatron software), finite element analyses as well as shrinkage and warpage analyses, rapid prototyping using 3D printing, thermoforming and HSC milling, plus the complete mechanical production of the tools. This includes HSC and CNC milling, electrode manufacture, sinker and wire EDM as well as the implementation of 2-component injection moulding in turntable technology and of hybrid injection moulding with insert technology, for example with inserted aluminium flanges or steel rings. The plastics processed include POM, PA6 GF50 and polycarbonate; the tools are designed for moulded parts from a few decigrams to 150 kg. The offering is rounded off by casting procurement with optical measurement of the raw cast parts, sampling and testing as well as maintenance and repair of injection moulding tools. Customers include companies from the automotive industry, filter and pump technology and the medical sector.

Materials & Processes
POM
Plastic for injection-moulded parts such as pump housings for fuel pumps.
PA6 GF50
Glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide for highly stressed parts such as chassis components and housing covers.
Polycarbonate (PC)
Plastic for housing parts of pumps.
Aluminium (insert parts)
Aluminium flanges as insert parts in hybrid injection moulding, e.g. for chassis components.
Steel (insert parts)
Steel rings as insert parts in hybrid injection moulding, e.g. with bellows sealing seat.
HSC/CNC milling
High-speed milling for tool elements and delicate prototypes.
Sinker & wire EDM
Electrical discharge machining for contours in toolmaking, including electrode manufacture.
2-component injection moulding
Turntable technology for moulded parts with an overmoulded sealing component.
Finite element analysis
Virtual calculation of deformation and clamping stresses to avoid errors before production.
Conformal cooling
Solution for problems with the temperature distribution of moulded parts.
