Wood trading and wood processing for industry
Since 1990, Kiefer Produktions- & Handels GmbH has been a partner to industry as a wood trader and wood processor. The company manufactures wooden packaging, crates and enclosures, wooden packaging media, partial packaging, standard and special pallets, wooden frames and wooden cut-offs with finishing by planing, equalizing and cross-cutting in its own production facilities. Special pallets are produced from 400 x 400 mm to 2500 x 13600 mm; from a lot size of 300 pallets, a CNC nailing machine takes over production of pallets up to 1500 x 2600 mm, while smaller lots are produced by hand at five nailing stations. The product range also includes batten crates, machine crates, plywood and OSB crates, repair parts for Euro pallets, wooden wedges, firewood as well as trade in Lignoloc wooden nails. Raw materials used include softwood and hardwood from sustainably managed forest areas in Germany and Eastern Europe, as well as plywood, OSB panels, glulam and round timber. Customers are found in the automotive industry, air freight/logistics, metal processing, the concrete and glass industries, window construction and tile production. The headquarters is located in Jesewitz near Leipzig, with a second production site in Hagenow (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern).

Production is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015; in addition, IPPC and QMS certifications exist along the supply chain. Individual wooden frames are tested and approved for load capacity by TÜV.

Foundation of the company Kiefer by Wolfgang Kiefer as a southern German company near the Alps.
Relocation of the head office to Leipzig in the course of EU eastern enlargement; today headquartered in Jesewitz, second site in Hagenow.
