About Kieswerk Löbnitz
Kieswerk Löbnitz GmbH & Co. KG extracts and processes around 750,000 tonnes of sands, gravels and gravel mixtures in various grain sizes each year on a site of approx. 350 hectares located around 30 kilometres north of Leipzig. The product range includes coarse gravel, masonry sand, facing sand, multiple-washed and certified play and fall-protection sand in accordance with DIN 18034, gravel mixtures for road and asphalt construction as well as topsoil from the site itself. The company was founded in 1992 as a joint venture of DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG and Ludwig & Jakob Götz GmbH & Co. KG and is now 100 percent owned by the DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL corporate group (D&S) headquartered in Mannheim. Through Baustoffwerke Löbnitz GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 1996, porous and sand-lime bricks are also produced and packaged, and sands, quartz and chippings are marketed via direct sales. Customers include well-known DIY retailers, ready-mixed concrete, building material and dry mortar plants, sports and playground facility and riding arena builders as well as garden and landscaping contractors. Delivery takes place throughout Germany, either for collection at the plant or delivered to the desired location, with matching test reports and certificates for the materials.

Materials and Processing Methods
Sand
Main extraction product from the Mühlfeldsee lake, available in different grain sizes and purity levels, including facing sand and certified play and fall-protection sand.
Gravel
Available in numerous grain sizes; after washing with rounded edges, it can also be used as fall-protection gravel and as aggregate for concrete and mortar.
Gravel mixture
With low fines content and an optimal grain structure for road and asphalt construction as well as frost protection.
Topsoil
Topsoil from the site itself, fine-grained and stone-free, sieved to a grain size of approx. 0–20 mm.
Sand-lime bricks
Bricks produced and packaged by Baustoffwerke Löbnitz, sold via direct sales.
