Kinetic Automata is a private company in the field of robotics and mechatronics, founded in Berlin in 2021. The company develops novel mechatronic solutions for applications in robotics, architecture, construction and multidomain vehicles. Its founding project is a foldable folding mechanism (patent pending) driven by an origami-inspired linkage architecture: it can enlarge a rigid surface by nearly a factor of ten in the unfolded state while ensuring high structural stability across all axes. The folding takes place via a single degree of freedom using linkage elements that bend the surface along the fold lines. Kinetic Automata offers prototyping of novel products, product development, research and development as well as the build-up of patent and IP portfolios, and works in German and English.
