About KINGSTAR

KINGSTAR, a division of IntervalZero, Inc., develops PC-based machine automation software for building intelligent machine controls. The platform-independent all-software solution replaces proprietary hardware such as motion cards, DSPs or FPGAs and runs on a standard x86 Industrial PC. The portfolio includes a plug-and-play EtherCAT master with auto-discovery and auto-configuration, Soft Motion (software motion control), an IEC 61131-3 software PLC, machine vision based on the real-time-capable GigE Vision stack with OpenCV, and IoT connectivity via OPC UA and Modbus. It is built on RTX64, a hard real-time extension (RTOS) for Microsoft Windows from IntervalZero that enables deterministic real-time performance on the same PC. Development can be done in C, C++, .NET, Qt, LabVIEW or PLC languages. Customers come from Industrial Automation, Medical Systems, Digital Media, Test & Measurement, and Military & Aerospace.

1. 2019

   Presentation of KINGSTAR 3.7 at SPS in Nuremberg (Hall 3, Stand 202); released on 20.12.2019.

2. 2020

   Webinars and blog series on EtherCAT, machine vision and Industry 4.0; developers receive controller integration optimized according to customer requirements.

3. 2023

   Technical articles on the roles of TSN and EtherCAT in machine automation and work-cell applications.

4. 2024

   Release of KINGSTAR 4.5 with an enhanced plug-and-play EtherCAT master and the CNC plugin PlasmaCAT.

5. 2026
