About Kirner Privatbrauerei
Kirner Privatbrauerei Ph. und C. Andres GmbH & Co. KG is a family-run private brewery in Kirn, in Rhineland-Palatinate. The company brews mainly bottom-fermented beers such as Kirner Pils, which accounts for around 75 percent of total output, as well as wheat beer, country beer in light and dark varieties, naturally cloudy Zwickel, Hunsrücker Hell, Schinderhannes Bock and various beer-based mixed drinks. In addition, limited special beers are released each year as special editions. The brewing site on Kallenfelser Straße dates back to the former princely Salm-Kyrburg cellar acquired in 1862; brewing facilities, five new fermentation tanks (2025) and a filling line commissioned in 2016 are located there. A large share of the electricity needed has been generated since 2024 by the company's own photovoltaic system with 140 kW capacity. The brewery is a member of the initiative 'Die Freien Brauer' and has held the 'Slow Brewing' seal of quality since 2020. The company also offers brewery tours, an online shop and the beer club founded in 2011 with more than 14,000 members.
