About Klangkoffer
Klangkoffer GbR from Darmstadt transforms used vintage travel suitcases, some over 60 years old, into handcrafted mobile design speakers. Each suitcase is individually selected, refurbished and converted into a sound suitcase; on request, suitcases sent in by customers are also converted. The devices are equipped with Bluetooth and an AUX connection, an amplifier, individually selected speakers and a lithium-ion battery from Samsung for up to 24 hours of runtime at around 3 hours charging time. Two sound suitcases can be coupled into stereo pairs via a second connected playback device. Before assembly, the sound is simulated, and after construction the acoustics are optimized with high-quality microphone technology. The products are made by hand in Darmstadt, presented at trade fairs, design markets and occasionally in stores, and sold in direct customer contact.
