About us
The Klavierhaus am Niederrhein of master piano maker Georg Neinhuis has been based in Kalkar-Appeldorn since 1993. In its own specialist workshop, upright pianos, grand pianos, harpsichords and harmoniums are worked on – from regular tuning through repairs to complete overhaul and restoration, for example of antique square pianos or modern Steinway concert grands. The range of services also includes the sale of new and used branded instruments (including Schimmel and Kawai), hire purchase, rental of concert grand pianos for festivals and concerts, concert support including WDR and Deutschlandradio recordings, as well as valuation appraisals. In terms of materials, these are predominantly wood (soundboard, veneer), felt and metal; lacquering is carried out by a specialist company in Wuppertal. Customers are private and public clients in the Lower Rhine region, concert halls, festivals and music schools; beyond the region, for example, a concert grand from 1883 was overhauled in Mallorca. Besides Georg Neinhuis, two additional female master piano makers work in the team.
