About Klenke Maschinenfabrik

Klenke Maschinenfabrik GmbH is a certified contract manufacturer for machining-based metalworking based in Northeim-Sudheim. The company, with more than 110 skilled employees, machines rotating components such as flywheels, brake discs, wheel hubs, wheel flanges, V-belt pulleys, pinion housings and axle stubs for the automotive, construction machinery and mechanical engineering industries. The machine park comprises 49 lathes (parts 60–750 mm, 1–300 kg), 25 vertical and 8 horizontal pallet-changing machining centres, as well as robot-linked turning and drilling centres for high-volume production. Gears are produced by the gear shaping process as straight internal gears to DIN 5480; ten balancing machines enable static and dynamic balancing of parts up to 200 kg. Materials include cast iron (GJV, GJL, GJS), steels from S235JR to E360 and C45, 16MnCr5 as well as aluminium EN 1706 AC 46000 DF. An in-house toolmaking department designs special tools and fixtures; manufacturing concepts range from fully automated high-volume production to manual single-part production.

Materials and Processes

GJV

Compacted graphite cast iron

For highly stressed rotating components such as flywheels and brake discs.

GJL

Grey cast iron (lamellar graphite)

Proven for components with high damping and good machinability.

GJS

Ductile cast iron (spheroidal graphite)

For robust components with higher strength.

16MnCr5

Case-hardening steel 16MnCr5

For case-hardening precision parts such as axle stubs and pinion housings.

EN 1706 AC 46000 DF

Aluminium AlSi9Cu3(Fe)

Lightweight metal for components requiring weight reduction, e.g. in the automotive sector.

S235JR–E360

Structural steels

For load-bearing and general mechanical engineering components.

C45

Structural steel C45

For heat-treatable shafts and rotating components.
