About Klinghammer
Klinghammer Group GmbH develops and manufactures machines in Braunschweig for the production of cans made of tinplate – from small round cans through shaped cans to buckets and canisters. The portfolio includes expansion machines (stretching), flanging machines (squeeze, die, spin and roller flanging), beading machines, flanger-seamers, seamers with 4- and 6-roller seaming heads as well as lug welding and handle attachment machines. The machines process tinplate up to 0.4 mm, or up to 3.2 mm for beading, plus steel wire bail handles, plastic grips and pressed-on aluminium foil on lids. The portfolio is complemented by spare part and tooling manufacture for every machine ever built (including models from the 1960s), complete overhauls of used machines, and worldwide service: commissioning, training, maintenance and repair. Since September 2020 the brands Klinghammer, Bertil Ohlsson and Larsen have been united in one group.

History
- 1894
Founded by engineer Julius Klinghammer in a rented workshop to build machines for the emerging canned food industry.
- 1901
Merchant Heinrich Kricheldorff joins as a partner.
- 1903
National recognition through the construction of seamers with a roller system.
- 1904
Death of Julius Klinghammer; Heinrich Kricheldorff takes over the management. First international breakthrough with a semi-automatic flanging, beading and compound machine.
- 1919
Heinrich Kricheldorff dies; his son Georg takes over the business. Founding of the sister company Herbort, Kricheldorff and Brüster (machines for canning factories).
- 1935
Liquidation of the sister company and realignment with Klinghammer.
- 1944
50th company anniversary; new machine construction: seamers, sheet feeders and longitudinal slitters built in series.
- 1955
Conversion into a limited partnership (Kommanditgesellschaft); Arnulf Kricheldorff and Hildegard Bürig become partners.
- 1959
Breakthrough with the Model 481 tool flanging device; international expansion (France, England, Spain, Belgium, Scandinavia, Africa).
- 1965
Entry into the US market.
- 1966
Development of the automatic horizontal seaming and knurling machine HVA 340.
- 1967
Takeover of a complete production line for filling machines.
- 1989
Arnulf Kricheldorff hands the company over to his nephew; focus on the in-house design department and individual customer requirements.

Introduction of computer-supported processes.
- 1997
Strategy shift: focus exclusively on products and markets with high know-how potential.
- 2020
Since September 2020 the three brands Klinghammer, Bertil Ohlsson and Larsen have been united in one group (Klinghammer Group GmbH).
