About Klosterbrauerei Neuzelle
The Klosterbrauerei Neuzelle GmbH is a brewery in Neuzelle (Brandenburg) whose roots go back to the brewery of Neuzelle Monastery founded in 1589; hop growing and beer brewing have been documented there since 1416. Production focuses primarily on bottom-fermented specialties such as the dark brew “Schwarzer Abt”, porter, monastery beers, various fruit beers as well as gourmet beers such as Closter Zell, Enki Bier and gluten-free varieties, in filling sizes up to two liters. In addition to beers, the brewery also produces non-alcoholic beverages, including BOA (beer without alcohol), Himmelskräuter, Himmelspforte and Klosterbrunnen. With 35 employees (2025), around 40,000 hectoliters of beer are produced annually, of which about five percent are exported. Distribution takes place via the hospitality industry, retail and an own online shop with free shipping within Germany. The managing directors are Stefan Fritsche and Patrick Fabian.
