About Kludi

Kludi GmbH & Co. KG, based in Menden (Sauerland), develops and produces bathroom and kitchen fittings, hand and head showers, shower systems, digital shower controls as well as bathroom furniture, ceramic washbasins, freestanding bathtubs, shower trays and WC/bidets. The value chain includes in-house development and quality management as well as manufacturing at the European plant in Menden and, via the joint venture KLUDI-RAK, a fittings factory in Ras al Khaimah (UAE). Chrome-plated, matte black and brushed gold finishes are part of the product range; in addition, Kludi produces fittings for store brands (private label) and serves the project business in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Research and development, quality management, supply chain management, sales and customer service as well as the Kludi MarkenZentrum as a training and visitor center are located at the headquarters in Menden. Since 2022, the RAK Ceramics Group has been the sole shareholder; the Managing Director is Markus Brixius.

Quality & Certification

Quality management is based at the Menden headquarters; the QM system is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 by TÜV Nord, complemented by ISO 14001, UWLA product certification and declarations of performance (DoP).

Company History

1. 1926

   Founded as "Armaturenfabrik Scheffer" by Franz Scheffer in Menden.

2. 1948

   Franz Scheffer's son Paul joins the company.

3. 1965

   Purchase of the Klusendick fittings foundry – the foundation stone for the Kludi brand.

4. 1980

   Establishment of the Hornstein/Austria plant (closed in 2023).

5. 1990

   Eisenberger Armaturenfabrik joins the Kludi Group (plant closed in 2011).

6. 1991

   Franz Scheffer (third generation) joins the management.

7. 1993

   Own production at the Diósd plant, Hungary.

8. 1996

   Opening of the Polish plant in Opole.

9. 2006

   Joint venture KLUDI-RAK with RAK Ceramics for fittings production in the UAE.

10. 2010

    Sales subsidiary in Mumbai, India.

11. 2022

    Sale to the RAK Ceramics Group; RAK Ceramics becomes sole shareholder.

12. 2023

    Closure of the Hornstein/Austria plant; presentation of digital fittings.
