KMK Metall & Kunststoff GmbH manufactures precise metal and plastic components in Wipperfürth for mechanical engineering, the packaging industry and agricultural technology. The core competency is CNC machining of single, small-batch and series parts on 3- to 5-axis machining centres, supplemented by HSC milling, surface grinding and the machining of die-forged parts. Materials machined include steels (structural steel, stainless steel V2A/V4A, tool steel), aluminium, copper alloys, titanium, magnesium as well as thermoplastics, elastomers and specialty plastics. The process chain ranges from CAD/CAM-supported design through prototype and series production (up to more than 50,000 pieces) to surface finishing by hardening, anodising and galvanising, as well as assembly. The machine park comprises 10 CNC machining centres, 8 of them with 5-axis technology, with Heidenhain controls. In-house hydraulic and mechanical clamping fixtures enable changeover times of 10 to 15 minutes for workpieces up to 10 kg and component dimensions up to 1520 x 400 x 100 mm with tolerances of ±0.01 mm.
