KNAPP Smart Solutions GmbH, based in Gelsenkirchen, specializes in automation solutions for pharmacies. Its core product is the R3000x dispensing robot, which handles automated storage and dispensing of medicines and shortens workflows behind the dispensing counter. The system comprises components such as conveyor-belt loading with package recognition (iScan 3.0), semi-automatic roller-shutter loading via a double roller shutter, a gripper with an optional second unit, freely positionable output stations, and Feeder OCR for fully automatic multi-product loading. The systems are complemented by software, personal consulting, training and a service network for maintenance. As early as 1995, the company developed the world's first dispensing robot for pharmacies (ApoStore); after rebranding, it now operates as KNAPP (Smart Solutions by KNAPP) and is part of the globally active KNAPP group with around 50 locations. Target customers are pharmacies in cities and rural areas with approximately 100 to 500 customers per day.
