KNECHT Maschinenbau GmbH, headquartered in Bergatreute (Upper Swabia), develops, manufactures and distributes grinding machines and cutter knife systems for food processing. The portfolio ranges from manual universal wet grinding machines to fully automatic, robot-controlled grinding machines with up to 6 axes for cutter knives, hand knives, sickle and circular blades, as well as grinder plates and grinder knives. The range is complemented by the K 24 cutter knife system, the hydromechanical clamping nut HSM 100 and a grinding service for all common cutting tools with inspection, grinding protocol and water-cooled, fully automatic regrinding. The products are aimed at food manufacturing companies, meat processing, butcher shops, cutting plants, gastronomy, fish processing, grinding services and hunting. Founded in 1957 by Fritz Knecht, the company produces at its headquarters in Bergatreute and serves international customers through its own sales subsidiaries in France, Austria, Russia, Switzerland and the USA.

Quality- and safety-relevant activities are planned, controlled and monitored throughout; a continuous improvement process ensures product quality. In the grinding service, all knives are first inspected for cracks, corrosion and wear, and the results are documented in a grinding protocol.
