About Knieper Engineering
Knieper Engineering is a sole-proprietor service provider based in Ahlen (North Rhine-Westphalia), specializing in technical expert reports, materials testing and quality assurance. The range of services includes evidentiary expert reports, damage/casualty expert reports and valuation reports as well as supplier auditing and inspection/expediting. An essential component of the expert reports and damage analyses is the systematic assessment of material quality and material condition. For this purpose, mechanical laboratory tests (tensile test, Charpy impact test, hardness testing, creep rupture test, metallography) and non-destructive testing methods (visual inspection, endoscopy, crack testing, X-ray fluorescence analysis, replica test) are used, in some cases also on a mobile basis. For technical testing, recognized and accredited partner laboratories are engaged according to targeted specifications; the data obtained are analyzed and compiled into sound expert reports. Radiographic examination serves to detect defects inside components, especially at weld seams. The Eglinton Crosstown LRT project is cited as a current reference.
