About Koblenzer Brauerei
The Koblenzer Brauerei GmbH in Koblenz-Stolzenfels emerged from a brewing tradition established in 1689 in the Old Brewhouse of Koblenz's old town and was formerly known as Königsbacher Brauerei. In 1885, Josef Thillmann relocated the production site to the Königsbach, where it flows into the Rhine. The company brewed and bottled beer brands such as Pils, Bräu and Radler and operated a 72-meter-high tank tower with 15 floors and a storage volume of 15 million liters on the factory premises. The infrastructure included its own railway operating point on the Left Rhine line with a loading track as well as its own wastewater treatment plant. From 1992, the brewery belonged to the Karlsberg group; in 2012 it was re-established as Koblenzer Brauerei GmbH. Insolvency was filed in November 2023; due to a lack of investors, operations were discontinued on 31 January 2024 and the brewery was liquidated.
