About Kömmerling
Kömmerling Chemische Fabrik GmbH, headquartered in Pirmasens (Rhineland-Palatinate), is a manufacturer of adhesives and sealants with a history dating back to 1897. Originally supplying the shoe industry, the company evolved into a system supplier for the insulating glass, photovoltaic and solar industries, the transportation industry (automotive, commercial vehicles, buses, ships, construction machinery, caravans), the construction and engineering industry, and industrial assembly. Technologies employed include polyurethanes, polysulfides, butyl, silicones, silane-terminated polymers, solvent systems, dispersions, hotmelts, epoxides and acrylates; the company also offers adhesive systems for coil-coating laminates based on steel and aluminium as well as foam parts for sound insulation. Around 60,000 tonnes of adhesives are produced annually at the two German sites in Pirmasens and Langelsheim. Additional production sites exist in Nanjing (China); since 2017 the company has been part of the US adhesives group H.B. Fuller.
