About Koltec
Koltec Technologien GmbH is a Swiss manufacturer of backing pads and sanding discs as well as polishing accessories for sanding and polishing applications. The product range includes backing pads made of plastic, polyurethane, rubber and fibreglass, sanding discs for polishers with hook-and-loop, quick-change and self-adhesive systems, sanding discs for drills and random orbital sanders, clamping bodies for sanding sleeves, polishing bonnets and hook-and-loop polishing discs made of lambs wool, foam polishing pads, polishing sponges and hand sanding blocks. In-house tool design also enables special products and custom-made items to customer specifications. Production has taken place since 1996 at the company's own plant in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, on approximately 7,000 m² of production space with 80 employees; administrative management is handled by Koltec Technologien GmbH in Schattdorf, Switzerland. The products are sold worldwide. The company was founded in 1972 by Dieter Kolthoff in northern Germany, initially with the manufacture of grinding wheels.
