About the Usability Competence Center Siegen

The Usability Competence Center Siegen (KUSi) is a project of the University of Siegen funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWI). It supports small and medium-sized enterprises with all questions relating to the usability and user experience of software and hardware products. Its range of services includes usability consulting, usability tests and user studies such as user tests in the laboratory, contextual inquiry or diary studies, as well as training on usability methods. In addition, KUSi develops new, innovative methods and supporting tools, including the freely accessible Usability Methods Toolkit, an online collection of over 45 methods across the design phases from ideation to prototyping. The center is based at the Chair of Computer-Supported Cooperative Work and Social Media (CSCW) of Prof. Dr. Volkmar Pipek at the Institute of Information Systems and is part of the Siegen SME institute environment. Locations are Kohlbettstraße 15 in Siegen as well as the affiliated Fab Lab Siegen at Sandstraße 26.
