Konrad Forsttechnik GmbH is a family-run company founded by Josef Konrad in 1990, based in Preitenegg, Carinthia. The company develops, produces, and distributes timber harvesting machines for extreme steep slopes and difficult terrain, including harvester aggregates (WOODY), mountain harvesters (MOUNTY), wheeled harvesters (HIGHLANDER), crane mast systems (KMS/KMR), self-driving and remotely controlled tracked vehicles (WOODLINER, LIFTLINER), as well as individual custom solutions. Manufacturing includes dedicated departments for steel construction, machining, electronics (hardware and software), as well as hydraulics and control technology; almost all components are manufactured in-house. Every machine undergoes a final inspection and test before delivery. With an R&D quotient of around 6% of revenue, the company is one of the world's leading providers in the rope crane sector. Machines are used in more than 30 countries through a global dealer network; the export share is over 60%. In 2010, the team included over 80 employees with an annual production of several hundred machines.
