About Koordinaten-Messtechnik Iserlohn

Koordinaten-Messtechnik Iserlohn GmbH (KMI) is a service provider for engineering services in the field of 3D coordinate metrology. The company was spun off in 2004 through a management buy-out from the Iserlohn Institute for Plastics Machinery and has a fully climate-controlled 200-square-metre measuring laboratory as well as training rooms in Iserlohn. Its range of services includes tactile measurements with coordinate measuring machines (CMM), non-contact optical metrology with image processing, 3D digitisation using fringe projection (point clouds, nominal-actual comparison, reverse engineering), initial sample inspection reports, series measurement with statistical evaluation, CAD measurement of free-form surfaces, geometrical tolerances (GD&T), contour and roughness measurement, computed tomography (ICT), tool measurement, gauge concepts and surface back-transformation. In addition, KMI develops its own clamping system (KSystem) and offers workshops and training courses on 3D metrology. The laboratory is accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 by DAkkS. Customers come from industries such as automotive and supply, plastics processing, medical technology, aerospace, mechanical engineering as well as sanitary fittings and toy industries; the customer base extends nationwide from Lübeck to Munich.

OPT

Optical metrology with image processing

Non-contact measurement of the smallest components in transmitted or reflected light (OGP Flash 200, Hexagon Optiv Performance 443 Dual Z).

SCAN

3D surface scan (fringe projection)

High-precision capture of complex shapes as a point cloud for nominal-actual comparison and reverse engineering (GOM Atos Compact Scan 12M, Steinbichler Comet 5).

ICT

Computed tomography

Non-destructive interior and exterior testing of components.

CAD

CAD measurement (free-form surfaces)

Measurement, evaluation and assessment of profile and line form tolerances on functionally relevant areas up to single-point representation for toolmaking.

STAT

Series measurement and statistics

Single-part and series measurement with statistical evaluation and series monitoring by sampling.

EMPB

Initial sample inspection report

Traceable documentation of all measured values in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, also using customers' own report templates.

KSYS
