About Korea Engineering Plastics
Korea Engineering Plastics (KEP) is a South Korean manufacturer of engineering thermoplastics headquartered in Seoul. The company was founded in 1987 as a joint venture of Tongyang Nylon, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical and Mitsubishi Corporation and was Korea's first POM producer. Its core product is the copolymer polyoxymethylene marketed under the brand name Kepital, which, according to the company, is manufactured in an integrated production process spanning all process stages. In addition, polyamide (Kepamid) and polybutylene terephthalate (Kepex) are offered. Production takes place at the Ulsan and Pyeongtaek plants (South Korea) as well as in Nantong (China). With a share of around 12 %, KEP is one of the largest suppliers in the global copolymer POM market of approximately 800 kt. Customer industries are primarily the automotive industry, IT devices, household appliances, and the industrial and construction materials sector.
