Kraftwerke- und Maschinenanlagen Instandhaltung GmbH (KMI) is a medium-sized enterprise with core competencies in maintenance, service and the manufacture of components for industrial facilities of all kinds. The company was founded in 1996 with maintenance staff spun off from the former VEAG power plants and today employs more than 45 people, including engineers, technicians, master craftsmen, fitters, welders, electricians and machinists. The range of services includes machining with contract turning and boring mill work, piping, steel and plant construction from planning through to the fully assembled plant, mechanical engineering as well as gearbox, valve and pump service. The offering is complemented by spare parts trading. KMI GmbH operates workshops in Hagenwerder (Görlitz), Boxberg and Peitz (Jänschwalde) as well as a technical office in Neukieritzsch near Lippendorf. The customer focus lies in power plant and energy supply technology as well as industrial facilities. The company provides its own training; currently seven apprentices are being trained in various occupational fields.
