About KRAIBURG STRAIL
KRAIBURG STRAIL GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Tittmoning (Upper Bavaria), is a specialist for track solutions made from recycled rubber and recycled plastics. The company manufactures level crossing systems (STRAIL), noise protection systems (STRAILwave), rail insulation (STRAILastic) and plastic sleepers (STRAILway) from a fiber-reinforced recycled polyolefin compound. Around 4 million scrap tires are processed into recycled products every year; the core production processes are vulcanization of rubber compounds, press technology and extrusion/compounding. Products featuring corundum surfaces, hot-dip galvanized steel and recycled plastics are used by railway operators, tram operators and industrial railways worldwide in over 50 countries, including SNCF Réseau, GYSEV, Salzgitter Flachstahl and RFI. Founded in 1968 as Gummiwerk KRAIBURG, the company employs around 180 staff and is part of KRAIBURG Holding. In addition to its headquarters in Tittmoning, the second site in Mayerhofen produces STRAILway plastic sleepers.

Materials & Processes
Recycled rubber (from scrap tires)
Base material for level crossing systems, noise protection and rail insulation; approx. 4 million scrap tires are processed annually.
fiber-reinforced recycled polyolefin compound
Material of the STRAILway plastic sleepers, free of contaminants, synthetic resins and steel reinforcements, 100% recyclable.
Corundum (surface)
Surface treatment of level crossing panels for durable skid resistance.
hot-dip galvanized steel
Used in the grating of the modular vario service crossing for water- and snow-permeable walkway surfaces.
Steel (screwing/retaining plate)
Positive-locking securing of the outer panels of the vortex track-laying platform against suction and pressure forces.
Recycled plastics
Secondary plastics for rail insulation and other track construction products.
