About Kraken Robotik

Kraken Robotik GmbH was founded in 2017 as the German subsidiary of the Canadian marine technology group Kraken Sonar Inc. (today Kraken Robotics) and is based at the Innovation and Technology Centre in Bremen. The company, with around six employees, is engaged in the research, development and manufacture of underwater robotics and underwater vehicles as well as trading in them. Its focus is on the development of 3D imaging sensors such as the RGB underwater laser system SeaVision as well as machine-learning and AI algorithms for underwater robotics platforms. Within the group, Synthetic Aperture Sonar systems (KATFISH, Kraken SAS), underwater LiDAR solutions and high-energy batteries (SeaPower) are also offered. Customers are found in the defence, offshore energy and ocean research sectors. The GmbH is registered with the local court (Amtsgericht) Bremen under HRB 32040 HB; in 2026 the parent company Kraken Robotics acquired the Covelya Group.
