Kraus Kunststofftechnik GmbH, based in Untermeitingen near Augsburg, manufactures thermoset and thermoplastic molded parts for the electrical engineering industry as well as mechanical and apparatus engineering. For decades, the focus has been on the production of thermoset molded parts made from BMC, SMC and free-flowing molding compounds using various compression and injection molding processes. A few years ago, the product range was extended to include thermoplastic injection-molded parts made from all engineering thermoplastics and their modifications. On a machine fleet with clamping forces of 30 to 3500 kN, parts are produced from pilot series through small to large-scale series. In addition, the company offers tool and fixture making with design based on samples, drawings or data sets, casting of electrical component insulation, and assembly. Product groups include polyester housings, insulation rings and discs, auxiliary switches, insulators for rail technology, and insulation parts for switchgear.
