About Krause Automation

Krause Automation is an internationally active plant engineering company headquartered in Munich with development and production in Bremen. The company realizes turnkey assembly and test systems, production lines and test benches, particularly for drivetrain and battery assembly as well as for hydrogen technology, including production lines for fuel cell and electrolyzer systems. The portfolio includes the High Speed Laser welding systems for battery modules and packs, the friction-driven transport system bluetrans in weight classes from 100 to 4,000 kg, production-oriented camera, leak and function testing as well as non-destructive testing by pulse-phase thermography. The solutions are complemented by digital products such as simulation, digital twin, condition monitoring and MES solutions (Advanced Data Management) as well as services ranging from maintenance and spare parts management to machine calibration. Since April 2026, the company has been part of the Agile Robots Group as a business unit of the Automotive Technology Segment and serves customers in the major automotive regions with locations in Europe, the USA and Mexico.

Technologies and Processes

HSL

High Speed Laser

On-the-fly laser welding of battery modules and packs with inline inspection and inline cleaning, independent of cell format.

PPT

Pulse-Phase Thermography

Non-destructive testing of the weld seam interior in typically under 1 second per test position.

bluetrans

Friction Roller Conveyor

Friction-driven transport system for weights from 100 to 4,000 kg, e.g. for stator, rotor, EDU, gearbox or battery assembly.
