About KASIGLAS
KRD Sicherheitstechnik GmbH develops and produces safety glazing and plastic refinishing under the KASIGLAS® brand. The company coats transparent plastics such as polycarbonate and PMMA with in-house developed functional coatings, including anti-fog, anti-ice, abrasion-resistant and UV properties. The manufacturing scope includes lamination, forming of 2D and 3D panels, edge processing, plastic printing, adhesive systems, prototype construction and custom-made special products. The products are lighter than glass, highly transparent, break- and splinter-free and tested for bird-strike resistance. Fields of application include aviation (including cockpit glazing for helicopters), safety and rescue vehicles, forestry and construction machinery, motorsport, as well as architecture and design. As part of the EU project Clean Sky 2 (WIMPER), KRD led the development of bird-strike-resistant cockpit glazing for the Airbus RACER helicopter. The portfolio also includes additional products such as cleaners, adhesive systems, a high-pressure washing system, emergency exit modules and installation training. The company is based in Bardowick with a branch office in Geesthacht.
