About KremsChem Austria
KremsChem Austria GmbH has been producing chemical products at its site in Krems an der Donau since 1948, with an annual output of around 400,000 tonnes. The portfolio includes wood-based panel adhesives (UF, mUF, MUF, MUPF, PF), melamine impregnation resins, formaldehyde and UFC solutions produced via the silver catalyst process, high-purity fine chemicals (aldehydes, fatty acids), coating raw materials for paints as well as halogen-free flame retardants under the Sacoflam brand. In addition, the company offers contract manufacturing (tolling) of polymers and specialty chemicals, using gas-phase reactors, stainless steel reactors up to 30 m³ and distillation columns with up to 100 theoretical stages. An in-house R&D competence center develops customized resin systems, low-emission and formaldehyde-free (NAF/bio-content) binders as well as modified-wood phenol resins; the analytics portfolio includes emission chambers and chromatographic and spectroscopic methods. Customer industries include the wood-based materials, furniture and laminate industries, pharma, agro, flavors and fragrances, paints and coatings as well as construction and fire protection. The company is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 22000 and is part of an industrial park with nine companies and over 600 employees.
