About Kronthaler

Kronthaler GmbH & Co. KG is a family-owned company founded in 1947 and headquartered in Freising, specialising in the production of sand and gravel. The company operates gravel plants at several locations in the region, including Freising with a crushing plant for crushed aggregate processing, as well as Erding and Zolling. In addition to raw material extraction, the company carries out large-scale earthworks with modern and powerful machinery, mainly in the districts of Freising and Erding and in northern Munich. For soil replacement measures, tertiary fill material and quaternary frost-protection gravel are available from its own pits. At the Zolling plant, the company operates a dry landfill for excavated soil and mineral construction waste up to a maximum of Z1.1 in accordance with the Bavarian Backfill Guideline; in Pulling, Erding and at pit sites, wet landfills are available for uncontaminated natural mineral excavated soil (Z0). Extracted areas are recultivated and renaturalised, resulting in dry and wetland biotopes as well as local recreation areas such as the Kronthaler pond in Erding and the Pulling lakes. The company is a member of the Bavarian Industrial Association for Building Materials, Minerals and Earths e.V. as well as the Bavarian Building Materials Monitoring and Certification Association BAYBÜV e.V.
