About Kryos GmbH
Kryos GmbH is a Swiss company founded in 2020, based in Rafz (Canton of Zurich), specialising in the finishing of components. Its range of services includes cryogenic deburring, vibratory finishing (drum deburring) and drag finishing, complemented by polishing, edge rounding and cutting-edge rounding. In cryogenic deburring, components are cooled with liquid nitrogen down to the glass transition point of the material and then blasted with a polycarbonate granulate, whereby only the embrittled burrs are knocked off – surface condition, material properties, colouring and dimensions are preserved. Plastics, glass-fibre-reinforced plastics, carbon, rubber, silicone as well as non-ferrous and ferrous metals are processed, including material combinations such as rubber/steel or plastic/steel joints, in bulk or individually placed. Customers come primarily from the Swiss mechanical engineering, electronics, machining and stamping tool industries. Kryos is a subsidiary of H N Oberflächentechnik GmbH.

Materials & Processes
Cryogenic deburring
Knock-off process using liquid nitrogen and polycarbonate granulate for plastics, rubber, silicone and non-ferrous metals, without changes to surface, dimensions or material properties.
Vibratory finishing
Bulk process with grinding media and compound for deburring, rounding, smoothing and polishing predominantly metallic workpieces.
Drag finishing
Workpieces are drawn at holders through grinding media or polishing granulate; second-precisely controllable process with high process reliability for impact-sensitive components.
Plastics
Incl. fibre-reinforced plastics and carbon, processed by cryogenic deburring.
Rubber & silicone
Cryogenic deburring also for rubber/steel and plastic/steel joints.
Non-ferrous metals
Deburring and polishing in bulk or individually placed.
Ferrous metals
Processing in the vibratory finishing and drag finishing processes.
