The plastics specialist from Mittweida

KTM Kunststoff-Technik-Mittweida GmbH manufactures precision technical molded parts from thermosetting and thermoplastic plastics at its Mittweida site in Saxony. For thermosets, compression molding, transfer molding, injection compression molding and injection molding are used; the materials processed include compression-molding and injection-molding capable molding compounds such as phenolic resin (PF), melamine resin (MF), melamine/phenolic resin (MP), epoxy resin (EP), urea (HF), unsaturated polyesters (UP) as well as the glass-fiber-reinforced GRP molding compounds BMC and SMC. In addition, common thermoplastics such as PA, PP, PE, POM and ABS, with and without glass fiber content, are processed by injection molding. A key strength is the integration and gas-tight embedding of inserts made of steel, stainless steel (V2A) or brass, for example screws, bushings, pins, rings and contact plates. The range of services includes consulting on and support of toolmaking through to sample approval, finishing by blasting, tumbling, drilling, countersinking, pliing and polishing, as well as tempering of parts. Customers include the electrical industry, mechanical engineering, the automotive and household appliance industries, the textile industry and musical instrument manufacturing. The company has been producing in Mittweida, near Chemnitz, for over 85 years.
