About Kühnl & Hoyer
Kühnl & Hoyer Musikinstrumentenfabrik GmbH is a family business founded in 1948 in Markt Erlbach (Bavaria), now in its fourth generation, specializing in the manufacture of brass instruments. The portfolio includes trumpets, cornets, flugelhorns, alto trombones, tenor and bass trombones, tenor and baritone horns, bass trumpets, as well as signal, hunting and Parforce horns. All products are manufactured entirely at the Markt Erlbach site from brass, nickel silver and bronze; production combines traditional instrument-making craftsmanship with industrial know-how and state-of-the-art computer-assisted measuring and adjustment methods. With 25 employees, the company realizes the entire value chain from manufacturing to assembly. The quality of the instruments has been recognized multiple times with the German Musical Instrument Award, most recently in 2021 for the Bb/F tenor trombone 'Bolero' – it was the eighth award win. Customers include professional musicians such as Till Brönner, Branimir Slokar, Bart van Lier, Malte Burba and Nils Wogram, for whom dedicated signature models are developed.
