About us
Künstliche Augen Hellbach OHG is a family business that has been manufacturing eye prostheses (artificial eyes) since 1921. The company was founded by Hermann Hellbach in Lauscha/Thuringia; the company's headquarters have been located in Würzburg since 1951. The eye prostheses are individually made from a glass specially developed for this purpose. In addition to production at its Würzburg site, the company offers regular consultation days for fittings on site, currently in 30 cities in Germany as well as in other cities abroad. The company maintains close contact with eye clinics and specialist physicians, is approved by all relevant cost bearers and holds the authorization for patient care. Bernd Hellbach, state-certified master craftsman for eye prostheses, has led the company's management since 1980; with Andreas and Michael Hellbach, the fourth generation is ready to take over.
