KUHNE GmbH, headquartered in Sankt Augustin, is a medium-sized manufacturer of machinery and systems specializing in extrusion lines for film and sheet. The company manufactures blown film, flat film and sheet lines as well as individual components such as extruders (screw diameters 25–250 mm), screws, calenders, blown film dies, slot dies and feedblocks with up to 13 layers — entirely in-house from design through manufacturing to on-site installation, including control cabinet construction and surface finishing. In addition to sub-components, turn-key factories including production halls, laboratories and warehouses are also realized. The lines process thermoplastics such as PE, HDPE, PP, PS, PET, PC, PMMA, ABS, EVA, EVOH, TPE and PA and are used, among other things, for the production of packaging and high-barrier films, geomembranes with web widths up to 8,500 mm, fuel tank sheets for the automotive industry and PMMA sheets for displays. Customer industries include packaging, food, medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, energy, construction and automotive. Since 1949, several thousand lines have been in operation worldwide, including more than 500 high-speed extruders.
