Brewery from Kulmbach – the home of regional beverages
Kulmbacher Brauerei Aktien-Gesellschaft, based in Kulmbach (Bavaria), is a German brewery company founded as Reichelbräu in 1846 and today produces around 30 beer specialties – including Pils, Weißbier, Lager, Export, cellar, and Bock beers, as well as non-alcoholic specialties. Production adheres to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 using predominantly regionally sourced raw materials: barley and wheat malt, hops, self-bred yeast, and water. Value creation includes flavor preparation in the brew house with malt control (hand sampling), fermentation, sensory testing, filtration, and bottling in the cellar. The Kulmbacher Group includes several breweries and beverage companies, including Sternquell-Brauerei Plauen, Würzburger Hofbräu, and Bad Brambacher Mineralquellen; in 2024, the group sold around 3.64 million hectoliters of beverages. The company also operates the Bavarian Brewery Museum with the Glass Brewery at Kulmbacher Mönchshof.

Quality
Quality assurance is carried out according to the DIN ISO 9000 series within the framework of quality management and includes malt control in the brew house (hand sampling), sensory beer testing before filtration, and the stress test for shelf life testing in the cellar. Laboratory analytics and beer sensory analysis (beer sommeliers) complement the testing of original gravity, pH value, bitterness, color, and foam stability.
