About the Kulturfabrik Kofmehl
The Kulturfabrik Kofmehl is a concert and cultural venue in Solothurn, Switzerland, which has existed since 1992. The sponsoring association Creep organizes around 200 events per year with approximately 95'000 visitors, including concerts with internationally renowned artists such as Die Ärzte, Shaggy, The Hives, Sunrise Avenue and Sepultura. In addition to concerts, discos, readings, film nights, cabaret and comedy events, workshops, football broadcasts, political panels, theatre performances and jams take place; the smaller stage in the Raumbar provides a platform for up-and-coming musicians. The operation is non-profit, is run largely on a voluntary basis by around 250 helpers and achieves a self-financing ratio of over 92 percent. The location is the new building at Hans-Huber-Strasse 43b (Rostwürfel) with a hall (900 people) and Raumbar (200 people) including technical infrastructure for sound, light and video. In 2003, the association received the Recognition Prize for Cultural Mediation of the Canton of Solothurn.
