About the Kulturhaus Brotfabrik
The Kulturhaus Brotfabrik in Vienna-Favoriten (1100 Vienna, Absberggasse 27) is a cultural and event venue run by Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna – Hilfe in Not. It sees itself as a bridge between the studios and galleries of the Brotfabrik area and the residents of the surrounding neighbourhood. The house hosts participatory art and cultural productions such as the Opernlabor (premieres of 'Der Letzte Tag' in 2021 and 'The Start Up' in 2022, in cooperation with the Vienna State Opera and Superar), dance labs, theatre installations and workshops. The ground-floor foyer and the Ankersaal as a concert hall are available for hire as a Green Location for congresses, presentations and cultural events; there is also a coworking space, a learning café, community cooking and a repair café. Many offerings are free of charge. Since April 2021 the house has been certified with the Austrian Eco Label (Green Location) and uses 100% green electricity.

Since April 2021 the Kulturhaus Brotfabrik has been certified with the Austrian Eco Label for Green Locations; compliance with the criteria is verified by an independent party. The sustainability concept includes, among other things, 100% green electricity, LED lighting, waste separation, water-saving technology and ecologically certified working materials.
