About the Kulturzentrum Kesselhaus

The Kulturzentrum Kesselhaus e.V. is a registered association that, as a partner of the municipal cultural office of Weil am Rhein, organises a multi-disciplinary programme of art, cabaret, theatre, dance, arts and crafts and music. The centre is located in the listed halls of the former silk weaving mill Schwarzenbach in the Friedlingen district, in the German part of the tri-border area just a few minutes from the French and Swiss borders. It comprises 21 studios for professionally working artists from several countries, a theatre and concert hall, a pottery and sculpture studio, a cultural café, rehearsal rooms for rock bands and the Museum of Weil Textile History. The association stages concerts, theatre productions, festivals, adult education centre courses, markets and events, including the annual arts and crafts market, and caters to a mixed audience of different ages and backgrounds.
