Kunststoff KG Nehl & Co. is a third-generation family company based in Bünde that develops and manufactures customized plastic fitting solutions for the wood-processing and furniture industries. Its range of services includes product development, rapid prototyping via 3D printing (SLS), tool and fixture making, and series production in injection molding and extrusion. The modern injection molding machinery uses automation and robotics throughout; the extrusion lines enable co-extrusion, embossing, overmolding, painting, punching, drilling and precision deflection within the line. Assembly takes place in partially and fully automated assembly stations, including customer-specific packaging for industry, retail and installers. Delivery is just-in-time down to lot size 1 via an in-house vehicle fleet as well as worldwide shipping to over 53 countries. Through photovoltaic systems (8,000 m² of hall roofs) and a combined heat and power unit, the company generates a significant share of its electricity itself; the share of recycled plastics has been increased to 47 % over 20 years.
