About KTR
Kunststofftechnik Hans Rethwisch GmbH (KTR) is a family-owned company founded in Hamburg in 1969 that manufactures technical precision parts by plastic injection molding. Its service portfolio includes standard injection molding, 2K injection molding, injection molding in a Class 8 cleanroom, insert molding as well as assembly of complete modules, post-processing and finishing such as ultrasonic welding, laser engraving and painting. Production is carried out on 24 electric and hydraulic injection molding machines from Engel and Arburg with clamping forces from 100 to 6500 kN and shot weights from 0.1 g to 2000 g. The material range extends from standard and engineering plastics to high-temperature and fluorinated specialty plastics, filled materials, bioplastics and recyclates. In addition to production, KTR handles tool management – planning, procurement, maintenance, repair and storage – with experience from around 3,000 tooling projects and a network of toolmaking partners; in-house mold making was discontinued in 2020. Its components are used in fields including medical technology, aerospace, automotive, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and shipbuilding; production takes place at the company's headquarters in Hamburg.
