About Kunststofftechnik Hennigsdorf
Kunststofftechnik Hennigsdorf GmbH (KTH) is a manufacturer and supplier for rail vehicle construction based in Hennigsdorf near Berlin. The portfolio covers the development, production and delivery of series and spare parts for all types of window systems for rail vehicles, including quick-change systems (SQC), bolted and bonded installation systems, as well as passenger and driver's cab windows in insulating glass, laminated safety glass (VSG) and toughened safety glass (ESG) with aluminium frames according to EN 15085. In addition, the company specialises in glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP/GFK) for interior and exterior applications: moulded parts are produced by hand lay-up and RTM-light vacuum infusion, including painting through partnerships and pre-assembly of ready-to-install assemblies. Adhesive bonds are executed in a certified manner according to EN 17460/DIN 6701, aluminium frames are welded or bent, and powder coatings are applied in accordance with the fire protection standard EN 45545. The offering is rounded off by consulting, design with FEM analyses, tool and prototype construction, as well as spare parts and repair service from lot size 1. Since 2019, KTH has been part of the HÜBNER Group, a global system supplier for the mobility industry with more than 25 locations worldwide.

Materials and Processes
Glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP/GFK)
Fibre-reinforced composite for interior and exterior cladding; robust, temperature-resistant and resistant to UV radiation and chemicals.
RTM-light (vacuum infusion process)
Enables GRP products with a high fibre content and uniform fibre distribution for higher load capacity and improved fire protection.
Hand lay-up process
Classical process for producing GRP moulded parts with complex geometries, including undercuts.
Laminated safety glass (VSG)
Safety glass for window systems in rail vehicles with increased safety requirements.
Toughened safety glass (ESG)
Glazing solution for windows of all rail vehicle types, e.g. according to ECE R43 for trams.
Insulating glass
Glazing solution with optimised light transmission and thermal conductivity values for passenger comfort.
Aluminium (aluminium frames, profiles)
Welded or bent frames according to EN 15085 with pre-anodising as corrosion protection.
Rubber (profiles and systems)
Custom interface solutions and special designs such as bullet-resistant rubber systems.
